The way work is conducted has forever been changed by COVID-19, with interactions between team members (especially online) changing.

Motivational Mapping tries to ease that change using analysis (and mapping, duh) to help team members and managers figure out what makes each other tick.

Our journey started with me having a map taken of me; with us then doing an in-depth analysis of each trait to better help me understand how each component interacts with each other. The app we were to begin working on was designed for Managers of teams as well as members; specifically for 1-1 scenarios and performance reviews. The want/hope is for the app to act as a tool before these difficult conversations to allow every team member to best know HOW to communicate to each other.

Your Map

Your Map

Manager or team member your landing screen is always your map-hub. A simple interface ordered by your latest maps (or for the manager teams and their maps) that then leads you to a substantial set of information.

To design the maps we took each element; from motivational level to cluster map analysis and looked for the best visual representation that could actually fit a form factor of a phone screen. Data is never easy to display in a clear, unintimidating way on mobile, so I spent a long time going back and forth with the KM team to find appropriate solutions that could consistently not only display the information correctly but in the long term influence the way the KM staff also present in person. With only the most important information being highlighted upfront, while everything else is hidden by intuitive touch controls.

Personal Summary

Personal Summary

Every member that took the personality test (to allow KM to form a motivational map) would have a summary available. The summary would highlight the members key motivator, relative scores and advice. Like everything in the app we really tried to let the information speak, so we used familiar design ques like emojis, mini-charts (that then could be expanded to further inform the user) and a block that allowed members to compare themselves to the rest of the team to see how they fit.

Web Dashboard

Web Dashboard

Something that was more of a lastminute request, was a Dashboard that would allow teams/managers/CEOs to purchase the mapping itself (and manage their plans). I wasn't looking to reinvent the wheel too much here, by taking inspiration from a lot of Google forms to create the structure of the dashboard.

The dashboard quickly let's you see your upcoming renewals, the clients your paying for and save payments for future purchases.
